This Is How The Girls Of Dangal Became Amateur Wrestlers In Less Than A Year

Aamir Khan’s transformation for ‘Dangal’ set the internet ablaze last week. Today, UTV Motion Pictures dropped another video of how the leading girls of ‘Dangal’, Sana Sheikh, Sanya Malhotra and child actors Zaira Waseem and Sanya Bhatnagar were trained to come as close as possible to a professional wrestler. Well, at least on screen. The video showcases the journey of all the four girls working from scratch to training like professional female wrestlers. It took them nearly a year long of grueling training, strict diet check and a number of injuries to look like tigresses on the screen. A brief look at the trailer is self-explanatory about the hard work these girls have put in.

All these girls had none to hardly any fitness background. They had never trained like a regular gym-goer, let alone training like a wrestler. Wrestling, in particular, is a combat sport that requires immense strength and will power. Training for wrestling is equally challenging and taxing on the body. From working out and training 6 straight days a week, these women came up as ‘almost amateur’ professional wrestlers.  Here, check out the video.
