GUJRANWALA: United States has not given any trade privileges to Pakistan after 2001 that it wants to take back, Minister for Defence Khurram Dastgir said on Saturday.
While addressing an event in Gujranwala, the defence minister said Pakistan was nevertheless ready to work with the US.
About the Afghan war, Dastgir said it would not be fought in Pakistan. ?We have to protect our people and soil.?
But, he added, Pakistan hoped for peace in Afghanistan.
The defence minister also spoke about power production in Pakistan, saying that so far in 2017, 19,000 megawatts of electricity has been produced in the country, which is more than what was produced in 2013 ? 12,000MW ? when the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz had taken charge.Β
