
LAHORE: The railway system in Pakistan will soon reach its destination, Minister for Railway Saad Rafique said on Monday.
While addressing a news conference in Lahore, the railway minister said the time is not far when Pakistan Railways? will be one of the best systems of the region.
The minister appreciated the Azadi Train that has been going to different cities of the country, saying it represented various cultures of Pakistan.
The Azadi Train, which was prepared by the Pakistan Railways to mark the 70th Independence Day of Pakistan, started its countrywide journey from Margalla Railway Station, Islamabad on August 12. The train was inaugurated by Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb.
The Azadi train consists of five art galleries, illustrated with pictures of people who sacrificed their lives during the independence movement, while six floats are also part of the train.
The floats highlight the culture of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir.
