SUKKUR: A truck lost control and crashed into an empty school building in Sukkur late Monday night, local officials said.

The incident occurred after the vehicle's brakes failed and it crashed into an empty school building near Sukkur's famous Ghanta Ghar (Clock Tower), Deputy Mayor Tariq Chauhan said.

Rescue members and police reached the site soon after the incident.

The driver of the vehicle and a helper were rescued from under the rubble, officials said.

Efforts were underway to rescue another helper.
