The Galaxy Note 8 was announced last week and according to a gadget laboratory, the smartphone has one of the best screens on any smartphone and received an “A+ Rating” for its quality. This is a first study conducted by DisplayMate Laboratory's history.

The Note 8 has a 6.3-inch QuadHD+ (2960 x 1440 resolution ) AMOLED dual-edge curved display with a pixel density of 521ppi and a brightness capacity of over 1,200 nits. That is the highest specification on any device till date and it also managed to dethrone the top position, previously held by the Galaxy S8. The S8 has a 5.8-inch QuadHD+ display with a 570 ppi pixel density and brightness capacity of over 1,000 nits.

One should also take 'note' that the Note 8 has the largest screen on any premium device and beats even the S8+ which has a 6.2-inch display. The Note 8 has the same infinity display design and has an aspect ratio of 18:9:5 making it a near bezel-less front display.

Samsung as a company is known for outfitting their devices with the best display available and when compared to others, it is concluded that the Korean company uses the most expensive components on their devices. The S8 costs approximately $308 to produce out of which $85 is spent on display alone. One can assume that the Note 8's displays are costlier simply due to the bigger size.

The Note 8 is certified as Mobile HDR Premium by the UHD alliance which translates into the device being optimised for 4K HDR content. Just like the S8, the Note 8 has a four display modes I.e. Adaptive display, AMOLED photo, AMOLED cinema and normal mode.
