A newborn Pakistani baby suffering from a cardiac ailment, Rohaan, was issued a medical visa hours after Indian Minister for External Affairs Sushma Swaraj announced the Indian government?s intentions to do so on twitter.

Rohaan?s mother, Mehwish Mukthar, had requested a medical visa for her son on Monday and had said "my child knows no borders".

"My son needs treatment. Why [does] he suffer. Request issuance of urgent medical visa," Mukhtar had written in a twitter post.

"We will give medical visa for his treatment in India," Swaraj said in a tweet on Tuesday after requests poured in from a number of Pakistani citizens on the platform.

Swaraj has seemingly softened her stance on the issuance of medical visas since she last issued a statement saying that visas would only be issued on the receipt of formal requests from the Pakistani government.

"Dear Rohaan, your visa has been issued and dispatched to Lahore today itself. All the very best," The Indian High Commission said in a post a few hours after Swaraj responded to the requests on Twitter.

Twitter users are now appealing to a prominent Pakistani businessman to help finance the family's trip so that the boy may receive urgent treatment.
