ISLAMABAD: A motorist was shot dead by police in the Rawal Town area of the federal capital after allegedly running a police roadblock and failing to stop, reported Geo News.
The second occupant of the car was injured in the police firing.
Police sources said the motorist, after failing to stop at the roadblock, was pursued by two policemen. After failing to stop when signaled, the policemen opened fire.
Police have claimed that warning shots were fired towards the vehicle's tyres, but the claim has been refuted by eyewitnesses.
Eyewitnesses claim that the shots were fired through the front wind screen, killing the motorist.
