KARACHI: Just the city authorities were making way to clear the menace caused by the heavy rainfall, which occurred earlier today, a breach in Thado Dam led to flooding in nearby areas late Thursday afternoon.

A video surfaced showing gallons of water, unstoppable, making its way to the areas near the dam.

The government took action and ordered the area residents evacuate immediately. The city authorities also asked Pakistan Armed Forces to help in the rescue operations.

However, the rescue operation have yet to start and until then the area residents have been left on their own.

Thado dam is actually retention dam build nearby Karachi on Malir river for storing rain water.

A breach in the dam had also occurred in 2015, Geo News reported.
