Malala Yousafzai took to Twitter late Sunday night to condemn the genocide of Rohingya Muslims, saying she is brokenhearted to see how brutally Myanmar is treating its own people.

The Nobel Laureate, explaining how her heart breaks whenever she sees an update on the vicious killing of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar, demanded that authorities immediately halt the ongoing genocide.

?Stop the violence,? she wrote, adding that the children who are being killed and their homes demolished ?attacked no one, but still their homes were burned to the ground?.

In addition to this, Malala also blasted Aung San Suu Kyi ? the incumbent State Counsellor of Myanmar and a fellow Nobel Laureate ? for turning a blind eye to the atrocity.

The Foreign Office said Myanmar should take strict action against those responsible for attacking Rohingya Muslims

?I am still waiting for my fellow Nobel Laureate Aung San Suu Kyi to do the same,? she wrote.

Urging people to take action to voice protest, she asked, ?If their home is not Myanmar, where they have lived for generations, then where is it??

The 20-year-old encouraged other countries ? including Pakistan ? that are witnessing this tragic event to ?follow Bangladesh?s example and give food, shelter, and access to education to Rohingya families fleeing violence and terror?.

Included in her list of demands was a request for Rohingya people to be given Myanmar's citizenship, "the country where they were born".
