Virat Kohli Reveals The 'Most Irritating Thing' About Today's Kids

Virat Kohli is one of the biggest names in international cricket and, in a country where cricket is a religion, the Indian captain is considered no less than a demigod. His exploits, both on and off the field, have arguably made him one of the most-sought after sportspersons in the country. Kohli's opponents respect him, while the youngsters look up to him as a role model.

While Kohli has always been vocal about hard work and continues to share his own experiences to inspire youngsters, there is one particular thing that the 28-year-old absolutely hates about his young fans.

Ahead of the much-awaited ODI series against Australia, Kohli criticised and expressed displeasure at some aspects of the modern culture that he feels youngsters should stay away from.

While speaking at an event in the national capital, Kohli reiterated the need for youngsters to maintain safe distance from the modern marvels or gadgets and rather spend more time on doing a physical activity outside their houses.

"Kids nowadays spend more time on phones and i-Pads. In our days, we used to be out and spend more time playing on the fields, streets, and parks. I remember in my childhood if any one of my friends had a video game, we had to plan out when we all will gather at his house to play that game," he said.

The Indian batting sensation was in Delhi for an event where he and Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) owner Sanjiv Goenka joined hands to launch Indian Sports Awards to honour sportspersons for their outstanding achievements.

The awards will be distributed across various sports categories on 11 November. During the event, the Indian captain also announced a support of Rs 2 crore annually through the Virat Kohli Foundation for players from other sports in India.
