Fast bowler Mohammad Amir welcomed his first ever child into the world early Tuesday morning, sharing an adorable picture with his little bundle of joy ahead of the historic Independence Cup series.

?Shukar Allhumdulilah blessed with the Rehmat of Allah .. Mashallah,? he tweeted from the UK, where he has been living with his wife and playing county cricket over the past few months.

Amir is in the Pakistan squad which will face World XI for three T20 matches in Lahore on September 12 (today), 13 and 15. However, he had not been able to join the team due to the imminent birth of his child.

He is expected to fly to Lahore to participate in the last leg of the historic series, which marks the return of international cricket to Pakistan after a drought of eight years.
