The Green Tribunal Has Announced A Ban On Using Disposable Plastic In Delhi NCR From January 1 2017


The pollution in Delhi has been on a rampant rise and with survival and breathing getting tougher by the day, the need of the hour is to curb anything that is toxic to the environment. Keeping this mind, the National Green Tribunal has announced a ban on using disposable plastic in the NCR region from 1st January 2017.

The tough decision is being headed by Swatantar Kumar , the chairperson of NGT . The NGT has also urged the MCD and other authorities to contribute in this endeavour and make it a success. 

NGT directed all 3 MCDs,DDA & other public authorities including NCT of Delhi to take fast steps for reduction & utilisation of dumped waste

The city needs more environment friendly measures like these and here’s hoping that this ban helps in conservation of the environment. It is important that the residents of Delhi NCR contribute equally and not use disposable plastics post the announced date.
