CHAKWAL: Four people were killed after a trailer overturned on the motorway in Kallar Kahar, Geo News reported Thursday morning. 

According to officials of the National Highways and Motorway Police, the accident occurred due to over-speeding and resultant failing of the vehicle's brakes. 

The accident occurred in the Salt Range area ? a frequent site of road accidents on the motorway due to its steep slopes and frequent curves.

On Tuesday, fourteen people were killed and six injured when a van crashed into a trailer near Chakri on the motorway.

Officials had said the incident occurred after the driver of the van, travelling from Jhang to Rawalpindi, fell asleep at the wheel. 

The van also caught fire after the accident and was obliterated since it was running on CNG.
