File PhotoKARACHI: One alleged criminal was shot dead and 15 others detained during various search operations being carried out early Thursday night in different localities of the metropolis, Geo News reported.
One suspect was killed Thursday night during a police encounter as he attempted to rob citizens in Orangi Town's Sector 9E area, police officials said.
Gambling den raid
Law enforcement agencies on Thursday night raided a gambling den in Karachi's Chanesar Goth and took into custody 15 suspects, police officers explained.
Gambling tools and equipment were also recovered during the operations, the officials added.
Patel Para operation
An operation is currently underway in the city's Patel Para area, wherein a door-to-door search is being carried out in order to apprehend suspected criminals, security officials revealed.
The operation is a joint effort between Karachi Police and Rangers; in addition, female officers are also part of the raid.
