The general protocol for an online delivery service is a delivery person coming to your door , giving you the product and taking payment, if not already paid. Except this one delivery turned nasty and gruesome. Nanjunda, a 29 year old Flipkart delivery man was murdered in broad daylight when he reached the customer’s house.

The reason? The customer, a 22 year old gym trainer who had called for a mobile phone worth 12,000 rupees, did not have the money to pay for it and therefore slit the delivery man’s throat. He later dumped the body in the shaft of the building. A police investigation later revealed that the trainer has asked his father to buy him a phone but was refused. The gym trainer then hatched a plan to get the phone. He gave the gym’s landline number as his own, and when the phone arrived, he tried to snatch it away. He then hit the delivery man’s head with a flower pot.

The trainer later slit his throat and killed him. “After murdering the victim around 12.45 pm, the accused hid the body inside the gym as he had difficulties in shifting it. At the time of the incident, there was nobody in the gym. When a few customers came for the evening session, Varun sent them back while cooking up a story. Later in the night, after the bank on the first floor and a fruit stall in the basement had shut for the night, Varun shifted the body around 11 pm to the basement. He kept the body in the lift shaft and escaped,” said an officer who was in the investigative team.  He was then caught and this entire incident finally came to light. Good god!
