KARACHI: One suspect was arrested Thursday night following a police encounter in the metropolis' Landhi area, Geo News reported.

The suspect was taken into custody in a wounded state; however, his accomplice managed to escape arrest, police officials said.

Law enforcement agencies revealed that the suspect ? from whom they recovered weapons and mobile phones ? was allegedly involved in numerous cases of street crime.

CCTV footage obtained

On the other hand, Geo News obtained the closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage of a looting that took place Thursday night in the city's Aisha Manzil area.

In the video, the suspects ? with their faces clearly visible ? can be seen looting citizens sitting outside a hotel without any fear. When one of the victims resists, the armed dacoits subject him to a beating.
