165693_1341095_updates.jpgTV screen grab shows Virat Kholi using the walkie-talkie

Indian captain Virat Kohli was seen using a walkie-talkie during India?s T20 match against New Zealand on Wednesday.

Video from the match showed Kohli sitting in the dugout using the walkie-talkie. According to reports in several Indian media outlets, this was a violation of International Cricket Council (ICC) regulations.

However, ICC rules state: ?the use of two-way handheld device that uses dedicated frequencies over short distances (ie a walkie-talkie) by Player Support Personnel for the purpose of communication between the dugout and dressing room area for medical and/or tactical reasons only, provided such communication devices are suitably encrypted to avoid detection by any third party in the nearby vicinity."

According to India Today, Kohli had sought permission from the ICC to use the walkie-talkie. An ICC source also confirmed to the publication that this was a non-issue.
