KARACHI: Farooq Sattar has decided to leave the country, sources told Geo News late Thursday, shortly after he announced to leave Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) and quit politics.
Sattar quit the party and politics hours after Rabita Committee expressed its confidence in his leadership following a high-level huddle on Thursday.
The decision comes a day after the MQM-P and Pak Sarzameen Party had announced to contest for general elections 2018 under "one name, one election symbol."
Sources say Sattar will leave for the United States next week, where he will be marrying off his daughter.
They said the disgruntled MQM-P chief may stay in the US for nearly six months.
