ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Khawaja Asif tweeted on Friday that Pakistan Peoples Party supremo should refrain from criticising Nawaz Sharif as reaction on their statements from his party would hurt the 'political community' of the country.

Asif's statement has come in backdrop of PPP leader Asif Ali Zardari's refusal to meet PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari's constant disparagement against the ruling party.

The foreign minister said Zardari and his son should not taunt on Nawaz Sharif, let us remain silent, even our dignity doesn?t allow us to respond to him.

"Zardari is a wise politician. He understands all indications. May Allah keep him happy," he said.

Zardari refused to meet former prime minister Nawaz, foiling the latter?s attempts for a meeting for the fourth time within three months. The PPP leader, rejecting once again the possibility of any contact with Nawaz, was quoted by sources as saying that the former prime minister ?only remembers democratic promises where his interests are concerned?.

?Nawaz Sharif is responsible for the current political situation of the country. Meeting him or shaking his hand is [out of the question],? the PPP co-chairperson remarked.

Earlier, Nawaz, while speaking to Geo News said that he is willing to have an unconditional dialogue with the PPP supremo. However, Zardari has reiterated his position time and again.

Meanwhile, Bilawal slammed the PML-N leader by saying that he doesn?t even understand the meaning of ideology.

Bilawal was taking a jibe at Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz?s claimed that Nawaz Sharif is not a person but an ideology. PPP chair pointed out that Nawaz is being opportunistic by changing his position and statements to favour himself.

?Mian Nawaz Sharif sahab doesn?t understand the meaning of ideology. You can't change your position for your own purposes,? he said while speaking to media on Thursday.

He went on to further criticise the PML-N head and said that Nawaz has been a part of all conspiracies against democracy in Pakistan. ?Mian Nawaz Sharif sahab is a threat to democracy.?
