After playing a dual role in her debut film, a Tamil political drama, Iruvar, in 1997, Aishwarya Rai will be seen in a double role once again in 2018, according to Indian media.

While talking to MumbaiMirror, Producer Prerna Arora said the film will be an edgy thriller which she is working for with Aishwarya. ?We will soon finalise the leading man opposite her.?

Besides Iruvar, Aishwarya also did a brief dual role in Jeans, a Tamil-language romantic comedy film.

Moreover, it is also said that Aishwarya would be featured in the remake of Raat Aur Din, a 1967 Nargis starrer.

Arora said the Raat Aur Din remake was in the planning stage. She added they have discussed the project with Sanjay Dutt, Nargis? son, and he approved of the idea and their choice of Aishwarya for the film.

Aishwarya has worked in dozens of movies in different languages, including Hindi, Tamil and English. According to report, she is the first Indian actor to participate in the famous Oprah Winfrey show in the United Stated and is also the first Bollywood star to get a statue at the wax museum in London, Madame Tussauds.

She was awarded the Padma Shri in 2009 by the Government of India and received Ordre des Arts et des Letters by the Government of France in 2012.
