It's Official: The Galaxy S9's Release Date Has Been Unveiled & We Are Excited AF

We've all been waiting patiently for Samsung to announce their plans for 2018 and the day has finally come. The South Korean company has confirmed the release date of their next smartphone i.e. the Galaxy S9.

The smartphone is all set to be announced a day before the Mobile World Conference kickstarts in Barcelona. The Mobile World Conference (MWC), is the world's biggest event for all things mobile phones and Samsung plans to outdo the competition by announcing one of the most anticipated smartphones of the year.

The invitation shows a large “9” indicating the Galaxy S9's launch and with the tag, “The camera. Reimagined”. We can see from the invite that Samsung plans to drastically improve the camera on the smartphone and is expected to use a dual-camera setup—at least the S9+ will.

Samsung's event is set to kick of at 6:00 PM (Central Europe Time/10: 30 PM IST) and will streamed live via Samsung's website and probably on YouTube as well. The Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus are expected to house the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor and a much-improved version of the Iris scanner. The cameras are said to have variable aperture which will aid the smartphone in taking clearer pictures in low-light environments.

Samsung's move to announce the Galaxy S9 a month earlier has to do with battling Apple's iPhone X. Even though the smartphone will be announced in February, it is expected to go on sale only in March 2018. We'll know for sure when the Galaxy S9 is officially introduced in Spain on February 25th, so stay tuned.
