Just a few months ago, Xiaomi launched their uber sexy Mi Mix 2 and it looks like the company is already looking to releasing its next version. The Mi Mix 2 was one of our favourite smartphones last year and you can read our review here. It had great form factor with a ceramic/glass back and it also sported a true bezel-less screen.

The successor is expected to be called Mi Mix 2S and what the name suggests is that the overall design of the smartphone is not going to change anytime soon. According to a new rumour out of China, the Mi Mix 2S is expected to sport Qualcomm's latest top-of-the-line Snapdragon 845 SoC. Xiaomi is currently looking to announce the smartphone before MWC kicks off in Barcelona. There's a high chance that the Mi Mix 2s might be the first smartphone with Qualcomm's latest chipset.

Earlier, it was expected that Samsung's S9 and S9+ may the be the first smartphone with the chipset, but it looks like Xiaomi wants to steal the thunder right from under them. Samsung uses Qualcomm's latest chipset for certain regions and Xiaomi may be able to claim the 'world's first' title if they announce the smartphone sooner.

The Mi Mix 2s is not expected to change much in terms of design, however, we can expect it to pack a punch just like its predecessor. It is expected to have an edge-to-edge screen and could feature dual cameras for better picture quality. The smartphone is expected to use the new Sony IMX363 sensor, which is a much-improved sensor when compared to the Mi Mix 2. The smartphone is supposedly going to be unveiled in a few weeks and we will know more about the device once it's been made official.
