Mumbai Marched With Pride For The 'Queer Azaadi March' & The Pictures Only Spell Happiness

The LGBT community in our country is still struggling for support and ideal recognition in the eyes of the law, but the good Samaritans in this society are changing perceptions and shattering prejudices, one person at a time. The recently concluded 'Queer Azaadi March' in Mumbai witnessed an amazing number of people who took to the streets in support of the LGBT community.

Mumbai, today you truly were in the best form. Queer Azaadi March, 2018. All my love and support â¤ï¸ðâ¤ï¸ðâ¤ï¸ð #MumbaiPride #377QuitIndia pic.twitter.com/agOVodlFFF

From funny placards to thought provoking messages, people did rattle their brains and came up with kick ass stuff!

The straight closet. Alot of straight people also live in a closet and I say that because at some point, I've lived there too. In there, there is little light to see how gender is a spectrum, how orientation is not married to gender and how behaviour and mannerism have nothing to do with either. We all live in such different places on this beautiful and wide spectrum of humanity and limiting that to just two genders that are supposed to get together to make babies is nothing but robbing ourselves off of such a wonderful extravaganza of evolutionary genius humankind has been blessed with. Imagine a world with no self expression and no art, no music and no poetry. That is what we are doing when we fail to see the spectrum. We need to break free and look around, give humanity a chance and accept all of it's beautiful manifestations. Come out of the closet, everyone. #FreeTheLove

The theme for this year was  '377 Quit India' and if the community continues getting the well deserved support, that's going to happen pretty soon.

Pride 2018 ð Didn't know I was capable of coming up with puns or making pretty posters. ð¹ Thank you @tthe1975.exe & @alvvays.exe for the picture ð» #pridemumbai #mumbaipride #pride2018 #queerazadi #hereandqueer #bipride #mumbai #girlswholikegirls #outandabout #bombay #queer #lgbt #pridemarch #prideparade #lgbtqiaindia #lgbtindia

While it is sad that we are still fighting for equality and trying very hard to change mindsets that are basically carved in stone, it's things like these which make you smile and make you believe that change is possible, if only all of us become a part of that steering wheel.
