Bose just announced their wireless in-ear headphones called “SoundSport Free” today which will go on sale for INR 18,990. The buds function just like the AirPods, i.e. wirelessly and can be charged through an included case.

While the AirPods are for more casual users, the SoundSport Free has a distinctly sporty look and is targeted for activity-focused users. It has a  silicone StayHear+ sports tips to ensure a comfortable fit during intense activities. Apart from the tips, it is also an IPX4 water resistant device (Apple's AirPods aren't water resistant) and can withstand sweat or water exposure (splash proof). 

The pair of earbuds connect via Bose's Connect iOS and Android app and also includes a nifty feature in case you lose your buds. It has a “Find My Buds” feature where it displays the last known location and time of use in order to help you find your lost earbuds.

We've been testing the SoundSport Free for a few days now and from our initial impressions, it can last up to 5 hours on a single charge and can get an additional 10 hours of battery life with the charging case. The battery life is at par with Apple's AirPods, however, the case falls short of providing additional battery life. 

The wireless earbuds have controls located on the top of the buds which gives you access to control volume levels, play or pause tracks, skip tracks and answer phone calls. The controls will also launch Siri or Google Assistant, depending on your device. Bose says that the earbuds have a special Bluetooth antenna that enables it to sustain a strong Bluetooth connection and can work up to 30 feet away from your device (As long as there is no physical obstruction).
