Armed Police Engaged In An Hour-Long Standoff With A 'Tiger' Only To Find Out It's A Stuffed Toy

If you do not have a child, chances of finding a stuffed toy at your place are basically negligible. In fact, some of us might not even have seen a stuffed toy since months or years even. But has it ever happened that you mistakenly took a stuffed animal for the real thing? A man in Scotland sure did and boy, did he make a big deal out of it.

So it started out like this.

Bruce Grubb is a farmer who recently moved into the cottage at his farm and was celebrating with his friends after inviting them over for a housewarming party.

After the party was over, he went to check on his 200 pregnant cows outside and happened to see a 'tiger' lying down casually in his cowshed. Naturally, he was got the daylights scared out of him!

Without wasting a minute, he dialled 999 and the first officer who arrived at the scene was convinced that it indeed was a tiger. So much so, that he refused to get out of his car and called for back-up.

Several police vehicles then got to the farm in Hatton, near Peterhead, Aberdeenshire along with an armed response team.Β  They also contacted a local zoo to see if a tiger had escaped.

An hour-long standoff and after so much commotion, the tiger refused to move an inch. It was then, that Grubb decided to take a closer look and much to his delight (and shall we assume embarrassment?), the tiger turned out to NOT be real, but a stuffed toy instead.

He toldΒ The Scottish Sun, β€œI feel a bit silly for calling the police but I thought it was a real emergency. We're laughing about it now but it was very scary at the time.” Damn right, it was!

The local police force later confirmed the whole incident in a Facebook post:

Well even if it was a false alarm, we are glad to see how the police was so swift with their response. Sigh! If it was India, it would have taken the police an hour to even reach.
