'Black Panther' Chadwick Boseman Reveals That Denzel Washington Paid For His Acting Classes

Chadwick Boseman, who amazed us with his insane acting skills and stunning action sequence in 'Black Panther', has become globally popular since he donned the role of King T'Challa of Wakanda.

Today, he is loved by millions and has garnered a huge fan following. He is a brilliant actor of course, but did you know he wouldn't have been here if it wasn't for the legendary Denzel Washington?

Yeah, Denzel is the reason he has made it this far. On the Oscars red carpet, when he was asked about it, he didn't give much details. However, on Jimmy Fallon's β€œThe Tonight Show” he revealed about this little secret and said that Denzel paid a part of his tuition through a scholarship program, as he took a summer class at Oxford University taking drama classes.

Talking about it further in the show he said, β€œI've basically been holding this secret my whole career. When I came back, I got a beneficiary letter and it said Denzel Washington paid for you.”

Boseman, whose latest film 'Black Panther' is making big bucks at the box office, shared that he never wanted to talk about it until he becomes more successful. The first time he shared this story was in an interview with Rolling Stone.

"I'm sure he has no idea. It was random. I couldn't wait to write my thank-you letter! ... I've been waiting to meet him, so I can tell him,” Boseman said.

In fact, Boseman even joked about meeting Denzel and said, β€œOh, so that's why I'm here - you owe me money!” Washington told Boseman. β€œI came to collect!”
