If someone ever tells you, “Hey, I don't know what's Paytm, just send me cash!” don't just look, but stare hard at that person because that's how a liar looks like. We don't think there's anyone who does not know about Paytm, one of the most successful online payment and e-commerce platforms. In fact, after Demonetisation, even those who were not that active, started using it aggressively.

Now, while we all are busy making payments using Paytm, its founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma is possibly swimming in the huge pile of money he has made with the help of his brainchild. Why? Because Vijay at the age of 39, is now the youngest Indian billionaire, with a whopping fortune of USD 1.7 billion.
According to the recently released Forbes 2018 list, Vijay is at 1,394th rank. In fact, of the 2,208 billionaires, only 63 are under 40 and Sharma happens to be the only Indian billionaire in that league.

According to the Forbes description, in 2011 Vijay found Paytm, which now stands at a value of USD 9.4 billion. A project that started as a mobile wallet or a medium for online payment, soon transitioned into the e-commerce business with Paytm Mall. It's not that people never used that platform generously, but after demonetization, things turned for good for Paytm. When many were left with no cash in their hands, Paytm evolved as their messiah and helped make payments and transactions easier.

The description further mentions, “One of the biggest beneficiaries of India's demonetization, Paytm has notched up 250 million registered users and 7 million transactions daily.”
92-year-old Samprada Singh, chairman emeritus of Alkem Laboratories is the oldest Indian in the list. He was ranked 1,867th on the list with a net worth of USD 1.2 billion.
At an age, where many people are possibly trying to sort their lives, Vijay is doing what any Sharma Ji can do best – make everyone jealous of their achievements.
