A Gym Buff's Guide To Using Denim To Raise The Temperature, From Parties To The Beach

The toughest balancing act is to figure out what to flaunt and what to hide.

For someone who is passionate about fitness, one of the toughest challenges in terms of clothing comes in the form of having to pick outfits that are perfect in terms of revealing the fact that you're fit, but not in a trashy, 'look at all the muscles I have' way. You want to show off that hard-earned physique, rightfully so, but are also conscious of the fact that you might just end up looking like you're trying too hard. What, then, is the solution? Is there a way that allows you to look fit, but with clothes on (and without them, of course, when the situation demands?) Mohit Chand, a fitness freak who has just the solution, shares it with us.

One fail-safe fabric that just will always work, according to Mohit, is denim. It may be a pair of well-fitting jeans, or denim shirts; and you will never be let down. Denim has that rare versatility that allows you to cover up as much or as little you want to, without looking inappropriate in the slightest. For a casual outing with friends and family, or even your colleagues, a polo t-shirt paired with a smart pair of jeans is your best bet. If you want to throw in a playful vibe, wear a denim shirt on top as a jacket, that you can later take off and tie around your waist. It will show off your physique (just what you wanted), without exposing a lot.

When it comes to those wild parties at the end of particularly demanding week, you need something that is effortlessly chill. The one-stop solution? Again, denim! Put on a pair of jeans, and a t-shirt. Good to relax in, dance in, and getting on with the vibe in general when the heat is up, and lose certain items of the outfit accordingly. *wink*

The biggest benefit of stepping out in jeans, Mohit says, is that you can instantly transform it into as beach outfit as well. Just take off your t-shirt/shirt, and voila! Sounds basic and an absolute no-brainer, yes, but the tricky part is that you can't pull that off with other garments. Being shirtless on the beach in chinos? NO. In denim? Yes, go right ahead!

Moral of the story? If you are a gym buff who is struggling with outfit combinations, the easiest fix is to turn to denim for every occasion. You're welcome!
