Neighbouring countries India and Pakistan are no strangers to their long-standing cross-border tensions. Whether it's the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks or the Pathankot massacre last year, the two sub-continent giants haven't been able to see eye to eye.
And, the political stands between the two nations has also taken a toll on cricket. The arch-rivals last played a bilateral series in December 2012-January 2013 when Pakistan toured India for a short series. The last time India toured Pakistan was way back in 2005-06 under the leadership of Rahul Dravid for three Tests and five ODIs.
The disagreement between the two nations has restricted cricket fans, from both sides, from showcasing their love and support for the opposition. While Virat Kohli's Pakistani fan was jailed for hoisting the Indian tri-colour on the rooftop of his home, an Afridi fan was also arrested for sporting the Pakistani cricketer's jersey in Assam.
And a similar case came to fore after the players of a local Kashmiri cricket club were seen sporting Pakistani cricket team's jersey and singing their national anthem before the start of the match.
According to reports, Β the match was held at the Wayil grounds in Ganderbal on 2 April - separatists had called for a hartal that day to protest against PM Narendra Modi's visit to Jammu and Kashmir for the Chenani-Nashri tunnel.
While their opponents were dressed in whites, the team named after Baba Darya Ud Din - a popular saint whose shrine is situated in Ganderbal - shocked everyone by wearing the Pakistani green.
The reports also suggest that the commentator, prior to the start of the match, also announced through loudspeakers that the Pakistani national anthem would be played as a 'mark of respect'.

The incident has since sparked a massive outrage on the social media.
