Sometimes, great talent does run in the genes. At least it does for Metallica’s bassist and his son, Tye Trujillo—also the new, 12-year-old bassist for popular and world-renowned nu-metal band, Korn.

The young protégé will be making his debut with the band on their South America tour, the band confirmed on a Facebook post. Tye happens to be the son of Robert Trujillo; and you would know him as the bassist for Metallica. The young kid will be filling in for Fieldy, Korn’s regular bassist who is unable to accompany the band this time around.

Tye is currently the bassist for a band called The Helmets. Here’s a video of the father-son duo rocking it out on stage when Metallica played alongside The Helmets. It’s the stuff that legends come to be made of.
So, if you’re fans of Korn, here’s yet another reason to keep tabs on their South America tour.
