Pakistani Reporter Chills In An Inflatable Pool During A Flood To Get The Authorities' Attention

You know what's the best way to get your message across and make everyone take notice? Be as outrageous and extra as you can be, that's how.

And, that is exactly what a Pakistani reporter did, and that too in the most hilarious way. While reporting about a flooded street in Lahore, a reporter from Dunya News – who's also now my personal hero – brought out kid's bright pink and yellow inflatable pools. Yep, now that's how you make a statement.

The whole extra-ness was done to prove a point – Lahore's administration hasn't done their job in providing proper drainage and sewer systems. Because of the recent heavy rains, so much water has collected on the roads that it can actually be called a dirty, disgusting swimming pool.

Flawlessly proving his point, he said, “Main kisi swimming pool mein nahi balki road ke kinare jahan paani khada hai aur Lahore mein jagah-jagah paani khada hai. Wahan par maujood hoon aur kaafi enjoy kar raha hoon. (I'm not in a swimming pool but in a waterlogged road. Lahore has waterlogging everywhere. I'm here and having a lot of fun)”

He basically slammed the water and sanitation agencies without actually uttering a bad word against them, now that's called being smart.

Continuing his sarcasm, he said, “Yahan par pool bann chuke hain, innko issi tarah se enjoy kiya ja sakta hai. (The only way to enjoy the flooded roads is to bring out your pools)”
