On-Screen Kapil Dev Strikes A Pose With Sachin Tendulkar & Kabir Khan To Kick Off '83' At Lord's

The Lord's Cricket Ground in London will forever hold a special place in every Indian cricket fan's heart because that's where India won its first World Cup in 1983 against West Indies, under the captaincy of Kapil Dev.

Talking about Kapil Dev, his on-screen avatar and Bollywood director Kabir Khan were spotted chilling at Lord's with the legendary Sachin Tendulkar. The trio was seen enjoying the second Test match of the ongoing series between India and England. Confused? We're talking about actor Ranveer Singh, who will soon step into Kapil Paji's shoes to play him in his biopic, '83'.

Honestly, there could not have been a better place than Lord's for Kabir Khan to kick start the preparation of his movie '83' and he did exactly that by sharing this epic picture on social media. Reportedly, Ranveer Singh and Kabir Khan specially travelled to Lord's to experience the aura of the iconic cricket stadium and also enjoy the match, which was unfortunately disrupted for a while due to heavy rains.

He further shared an interesting piece of information about Sachin Tendulkar, which most of us have been unaware of. It was the 1983 World Cup and Kapil's Devils' victory (as the team was called back then), which inspired the then 9-year-old Sachin to play for India.

Kabir Khan wrote on Instagram, “Sachin was 9 years old when he saw on television Kapil's Devils win the World Cup in 1983 right here at this ground. That win inspired him to want to play for India. 35 years later we kick off the prep for our film 83 at the Lords... Can't get better than this can it? @ranveersingh @sachintendulkar #indiaenglandseries #lords #filmprep”.

The movie '83' will be a sports biopic focusing on this milestone in the history of Indian Cricket. '83' is expected to release on 5th April, 2019.
