Motorola's P30 Is An Exact Shameless iPhone X Rip-Off With A Paint Job Stolen From Huawei

Motorola has launched a new device in China that has managed to confuse everyone. At first glance, it looks like the iPhone X, but when you look closer and see the paint job, it'll remind you of Huawei's P20 Pro. In fact, Motorola has decided to troll Huawei and has named this device the P30.

While we've seen many companies take inspiration from Apple's iPhone X, including the Vivo V9, Xiaomi Mi A2 or the P20 Lite, Motorola has decided to go ahead and copy the design very precisely. The only difference is, there's a Moto logo on the back instead of an Apple.

The P30 has a ceramic back that comes in three flavours - black, white and a purple + blue gradient colour. The Moto logo on the back also houses a fingerprint sensor. If you're out there looking for a new phone that is cheaper but looks as attractive as the iPhone X, the P30 is for you.

The phone has a 6.2-inch Full HD+ LCD display with a resolution of 2246 x 1080 and an aspect ratio of 19:9. This where the high-end feel ends though, the phone is powered by the budget Snapdragon 636 processor along with 6GB of RAM. Two storage variants, 64 and 128GB are available, along with an expandable microSD card slot.

On the rear, the dual camera setup consists of a 16-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor with an aperture of f/1.8 and f/2.2 respectively. It can shoot portrait photos along with videos at 1080p. On the front is a 12-megapixel sensor with a f/2.0 aperture.

Thankfully the phone has a type-C connection that charges the 3000mAh battery. The phone also supports fast charging and a 3.5mm jack, for the old schools out there.

The phone runs on Android 8.0 Oreo with Lenovo's ZUI 4.0 skin on the top. For now, the phone has launched in China and the 64GB variant retails for CNY 1,999 (Rs 20,500) while the 128GB one goes for CNY 2,099 (Rs 21,500). There is a possibility Motorola might launch the phone to more global markets after making an announcement at IFA Berlin.
