I have said the phrase “anything can be a meme” so many times but I never, ever thought even for one second that this would mean people will start making memes about moths. Yes, seriously. Moths!!!

I'm pretty sure everyone has seen at least one of these weird memes that are floating around on the internet and after some investigation, we've tracked down what started it all. Actually, it was more like a quick Google search but whatever.

Apparently, it all started on Reddit when user No_Reason27 posted a picture of a moth outside their window back in July.

And thus, began the journey of this unexpected meme.

I'm not sure but this seems to be the first instance of the picture – and moths in general – showing up on Twitter.
