How To Use Mass Gainers Properly Without Gaining A Lot Of Fat

Okay, so before you start judging me and think that 'this is the same guy who earlier told us not to use mass gainers',  let me make it very clear that I am not promoting extensive use of mass gainers. I am still a firm believer of clean bulking and that it can get you jacked without a lot of fat gain.

In this piece though, I will discuss a few situations where you can put your mass gainers to sensible use. So, if you have a mass gainer tub you bought and never used, here are some tips that will help you put them to use, right alongside your diet.

    Mass Gainers As A Supplement

Mass Gainers are simply supplements that help you consume extra calories. This leads to increased daily caloric intake, which is essential for putting on muscle mass. But what usually happens is that dudes consume it way too much and end up getting fat, not muscular.

They are generally sold in big sizes like 6lb and 12lb tub with huge per serving sizes that can go up to 250gm per serving. Each scoop can easily fetch more than a thousand calories. The composition is moderately high in protein and very high carbs.

The only problem with mass gainers is that they contain more sugar than you actually need. The amount can go up to 20gm of sugar per serving in some products. It is almost like consuming sugar syrup along with your shake. Simply horrendous!

How To PROPERLY Use Mass Gainers

Like I mentioned above, mass gainers are loaded with calories. So for someone who is looking to gain muscle mass, this can be useful if used mindfully.

    While Travelling

You can use your mass gainer as a complete meal replacement in some situations. A serving of mass gainer has almost, if not less, the nutrition of your 'gaining diet'. So at times, when you know that you are about to miss your diet due to a busy schedule or travelling, you can actually put your mass gainer to use.

Just have a serving of mass gainer to complete your macro intake, that's it!  This way, you will be able to maintain your required daily caloric surplus with ease. This comes in very handy while travelling especially.

    Consuming In Smaller Quantities

Another wise use of mass gainer is to use it in smaller quantity, instead of the recommended servings. The recommended serving of a mass gainer is generally very high and feeds you around 1200-1500 calories in a single serving.

Majority of people would actually feel bloated after consuming such a large number of calories in one go. So instead, use a smaller portion of this recommended serving. Let's say, one-fourth of the recommended serving and add some whey protein to increase its protein content. That way you can consume mass gainers to increase your calorie intake slightly, while not drastically increasing daily calorie intake.
