Virat Kohli Gets Trolled For Wearing Shorts At The Toss Of India's Warm-up Game

With the four-match Test series just a week away, the Indian cricket team is leaving no stone unturned in their bid to prepare themselves for the big challenge against Australia.

After a 1-1 draw in the rain-hit T20I series, the visitors are currently engrossed with a one-off practice match against Cricket Australia (CA) XI in Sydney.

However, India's preparations suffered an early jolt after incessant rains ensured that the first day's play was washed off without a single ball being bowled. But, while Kohli's gym session and his gaming stint with Rishabh Pant and Prithvi Shaw on PlayStation 4 (PS4) grabbed the limelight on Day 1, his decision to wear shorts for the toss of India's warm-up game irked cricket fans.

Early on Day 2, with the stands of the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) all empty, Kohli walked out to the pitch for the toss wearing a sweatshirt and grey shorts. On the other hand, Kohli's counterpart Sam Whiteman was seen dressed in the full Test kit.

Kohli's devil-may-care attitude evoked a strong response on the social media where many cricket fans labelled the Indian skipper as the king of 'Thug Life'.

Barring KL Rahul who was dismissed for just three runs, the Indian batsmen looked pretty convincing against the new ball. Shaw, who opened the innings with Rahul, looked in sublime form, scoring a masterful 66 before being dismissed by Daniel Fallins. Kohli (64) and Cheteshwar Pujara (54), too, got some runs as India witnessed as many as five fifties being scored on Day 2.

But, while the Indian batsmen - noticeably young Shaw - gave a glimpse of what to expect in the upcoming Test series, it was eventually Kohli - with his shorts at the toss - that became the talking point on the social media.

Disgraceful and disrespectful... There was time captains used to wear Blazers during toss.... This behavior is absolutely unpardonable....
