Micromax Finally Realised The Year Is About To End & Launched Two New Phones

Once upon a time, Micromax used to be among the top smartphone makers in India, but the brand is barely even seen today. The Indian company had its days of glory back in 2013 and 2014, but since the arrival of rivals like Xiaomi, OPPO, Vivo, and Moto, the homegrown company has lost its footing. They did try to make a comeback with a new brand - Yu Smartphones.

But the brand just fizzled out within a few months. The primary issue behind Micromax's fall has been ignorance. With the onslaught of new players, the company failed to adapt to users needs. The days of one judging a phone based on just hardware are long gone. Consumers now care about what "skin" is running, and MIUI has been at the forefront.

Many users have made peace with Stock Android and that's the audience Nokia is trying to grab. With the new Infinity N12 and N11, Micromax has opted the same route. Though we still are pessimistic about timely updates.

Both the phones feature a 6.2-inch HD+ (720x1500 pixels) notched display along with an 18.9:9 aspect ratio. The Infinity N series is powered by the MediaTek Helio P22 processor clocked at 2.0Ghz. The N12 has 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, with 128GB expandable storage support while the N11 has 2GB RAM, though the total storage remains 32GB storage.

The two also feature a fingerprint scanner and face recognition for authentication. The phones come with dual LTE and dual VoLTE support and a triple-card slot lets you also use a microSD card along.

In the camera department, both the devices boast a dual camera setup with 13+ 5-megapixel depth sensor paired with LED flash on the rear. The N12 has a 16-megapixel wide angle lens while the N11 has an 8-megapixel sensor. The devices come with 4000mAh battery each with 30 hours of talk time being promised by Micromax.

The N11 is priced at Rs 8,999 while the N12 has been marked at Rs 9,999. Both smartphones will go on sale through major online and offline stores across the country starting December 25.
