Revealed: This Is What MS Dhoni Earned As The Vice President Of India Cements

If the Indian Premier League (IPL) is labelled as the most flamboyant cricket league, then Lalit Modi - it's first chairman and commissioner - was arguably the most stylish cricket administrator in the world. From his grand entrances to hanging out with celebrities in style, Modi was living his life king-size amidst comparisons with Don King (boxing promoter) and Bernie Ecclestone (F1 promoter).

However, after successfully running the tournament for three years, the business tycoon was suspended and later expelled from the BCCI on 22 charges including bid rigging, betting and money laundering. Since then, Modi has continued to keep close tabs on the league during his exile in London.

It's like no conversation surrounding the IPL is complete without at least one individual mentioning Modi's name. So when the tenth edition of the IPL is in full flow, Modi couldn't have possibly missed out on making his presence felt.

The former IPL chairman sent shockwaves across the cricket-frenzy nation after sharing a document that turned out to be the appointment letter of MS Dhoni during his stint as the Vice President of India Cements - a company owned by former BCCI supremo N Srinivasan.

‪It seems only in #india #contempt after contempt continues by the #old #guards of @bcci - How ? My best guess is #northblock‬. The ‘appointment letter’ claims that Dhoni was offered the post of Vice President (Marketing) at the company’s corporate office in Chennai with effect from July, 2012. As per the ‘contract’, Dhoni was offered a basic pay of Rs 43,000 per month and Dearness Allowance of Rs 21,970. Dhoni, the contract alleges, was also subject to Special Pay of Rs 20,000.
