In 1908, social activist Anna Jarvis held a memorial for her mother at St Andrew's Methodist Church in West Virginia. Over the next three years, she fought all odds to make Mother's Day an holiday. And, her efforts finally bore fruit in 1911 when all US states observed the holiday.Since then, Mother's Day is celebrated in every corner of the globe and has gone on to become an iconic day for people to pay homage and respect to their mothers and motherly figures. On 14th May, majority of the countries celebrated the Mother's Day and the social media was buzzing with sweet messages. From politicians to movie stars, everyone got together to highlight the importance of their mothers in their life.

Sharing similar notions, cricket icons, too, joined the chorus and shared pictures of their respective mothers with a special message highlighting the selflessness and caring nature of all the mums around the globe.
