MURREE: Punjab Food Authority sealed on Wednesday the kitchen of a famous hotel in Bhurban.

The PFA team, headed by Director Operations North Bilal Abro, also slapped a fine of Rs100,000 to the hotel owners.

Cockroaches were present in all corners of the kitchen and food was kept in unsatisfactory conditions.

The hotel?s water filters were rusted and expired. 

Moreover, an open sewerage line was passing through the hotel?s kitchen while ice-cream was stored in an unhygienic conditions.

The same hotel?s kitchen was also sealed six-months ago, according to PFA spokesperson.

On January 24, PFA had raided a cooking oil production factory and sealed it after discovering questionable processes and unhealthy elements in its products.

According to Punjab Food Authority Director Operations Rafia Haider, as many as 50,000 litre of cooking oil was confiscated from the factory after it was found that chicken waste was being used to manufacture the product.
