
KARACHI: At least seven people were arrested by paramilitary forces in raids in different areas of the metropolis on Friday, informed Rangers spokesperson.
The spokesperson claimed that the suspects were involved in a number of crimes; further adding that from the Preddy area, an activist of MQM-London Muhammad Danish Akhtar was arrested on the charges of target killing, extortion, and other crimes.
A dacoit named Asif has also been arrested from Saudabad.
Two suspects, Syed Ali and Sheeraz, have also been arrested in raids conducted at Gulberg, Lyari and Saudabad on the charges of mobile snatching and other crimes.
Two unregistered Afghan nationals and a drug peddler Jangi Baloch have also been nabbed from Lyari. Illegal weapons and narcotics were recovered from the latter.
The Rangers spokesperson informed that the suspects have been handed over to police for legal action.
