1. No Spacey, No House Of Cards
Trigger Street Productions

2. ‘House Of Cards’ Is Based On A 1990 BBC Miniseries
Trigger Street Productions
Did you know ‘House of Cards’ is actually based on a 1990 BBC miniseries of the same name? The four-episode series took place in the time period following Margaret Thatcher’s tenure as Prime Minister.
3. ‘House Of Cards’ Author Served In The Parliament
Trigger Street Productions
The author of ‘House of Cards’-Michael Dobbs served as Thatcher’s chief of staff from 1986 to 1987, and the deputy chairman of the Conservative Party from 1994 to 1995.

5. Once, Spacey Got Burnt During The Shoot
Trigger Street Productions
Kevin Spacey is quite a daredevil in real life too. While shooting promotional stills, Spacey had to hold a burning flag, but ended up burning his hand. He was forced to wear a bandage, which is why Underwood conveniently burns his hand with coffee and wears a bandage in episode nine.
6. Great Acting Was Offered More Screen Time

The character of young prostitute Rachel Posner, played by Rachel Brosnahan, wasn't initially intended to develop much further in the series, but creator and writer Beau Willimon loved her acting so much that he decided to give her more depth later on.

The beautiful Hotel Cotesworth, where Claire Underwood throws a fabulous gala, was actually shot in a library in Maryland.
