
KHANEWAL: Five people were killed and ten severely injured when a bus collided with a truck on the Kabirwala-Jhang road early Friday morning.
Rescue sources said the bus, carrying around 50 passengers from Faisalabad to Multan, was speeding at a crossing when it collide with a truck.
Rescue 1122 officials had to cut open the bus to rescue the passengers. Two of the injured, who were in critical condition, were transported to Nishtar Hospital, Multan whereas the rest were admitted to Kabirwala Tehsil Headquarters Hospital.
On May 15, at least four schoolchildren and a driver were killed and eight children critically injured when a speeding oil tanker crushed a school van in Multan.
The accident had taken place on Makhdoom Rasheed Road when the oil tanker crushed the school van due to alleged speeding.
A total of 12 children were on their way home in the school van. According to rescue sources, the van had to be cut to extricate the children.
