While the Indian cricket team just gave us a lot to gloat about by demolishing Pakistan in their Champions Trophy encounter yesterday, the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) just gave us another reason to be proud of our country.
They just launched their most powerful rocket, the GSLV Mk III (Fatboy), which laid a very strong foundation for future space projects. It was carrying the heaviest satellite of the country, the GSAT-19. Hereβs the entire launch. Skip to 37:00 for the launch:
It took just 16 minutes for the rocket to place the satellite in geosynchronous transfer orbit which weβre sure is some sort of achievement.
Congratulations came pouring in for ISRO from all quarters including the President and Prime Minister of our country.
Heartiest congratulations to ISRO on the historic launch of GSLV-Mk III #PresidentMukherjee
