Regional peace efforts won't be disrupted by Afghan leadership's rhetoric: Aizaz Chaudhry

WASHINGTON: Pakistan's Ambassador to the United States Aizaz Ahmed Chaudhry on Thursday said that Pakistan?s efforts to bring peace in the region would not be disrupted by the rhetoric of the Afghan leadership.

He said that Pakistan wishes to see a peaceful, stable, prosperous, and sovereign Afghanistan.

This ambassador while participating in a discussion panel in Washington stressed that there is an opportunity for both, Pakistan and the United States to work together to achieve peace in Afghanistan.

He said mistrust between the two countries is blocking the progress in achieving the objective of peace.

?Terrorism under any pretext is not acceptable to us [Pakistan],? Chaudhry said.

The ambassador reiterated that Pakistan?s efforts to bring peace in the region would not be interrupted by the rhetoric of the Afghan leadership.
