Felicitations pour in as Pakistan clinch Champions Trophy


KARACHI/ISLAMABAD: Felicitations have been pouring in as Pakistan outclassed India in the Champion Trophy final played at The Oval, London, defeating the arch-rival by 180 runs on Sunday.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif felicitated the nation over historic Champions Trophy win, paying tribute to Pakistan team for their remarkable show against India. He lauded the team for defeating India with a huge margin to lift Champions Trophy.
He was followed by President Mamnoon Hussain, who congratulated the team for their historic victory against India.
"Pakistan achieved historic win through unity and determination," he said, in a statement, adding that hardwork and passion pave way for great achievements.
The president also felicitated the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and team management.
Meanwhile, Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa congratulated the Pakistan side, saying, "Teamwork can never be defeated". He also announced Umrah package for the entire side.
Air Chief Marshall Sohail Aman was delighted on Pakistan victory as he congratulated the Green Shirts for their remarkable win. "We are proud of this historic Pakistan win against India," he said.
