Hardik Pandya Rants About Team India On Twitter After Shambolic 180-Run Loss To Pakistan

Labelled as one of the top contenders to win the ICC Champions Trophy title, the Indian cricket team fell flat on its face after a shambolic 180-run loss against Pakistan - who were not only ranked the lowest of all the sides playing in the tournament, but also happen to be their arch-rivals.

On a day when literally nothing worked in their favour, Virat Kohli's side was hammered for a whopping 338 runs and then bowled out for a paltry 158 runs to concede the biggest defeat by a team in the final of an ICC tournament.

Despite boasting of a formidable batting line-up, none of the big guns including Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, MS Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh came to the rescue of India who were left reeling at 54-5 in under 14 overs of their innings.

    🎥🇮🇳 The @BCCI scorecard didn't make for pretty reading, except for @hardikpandya7's blistering lone hand 76 off 43 deliveries #PAKvIND #CT17 pic.twitter.com/iI2u0LNWOM

Hardik Pandya gave India a ray of hope with his blistering 43-ball 76, but the explosive batsman was left fuming after Ravindra Jadeja got him run-out in the 27th over.

The better team won today.. but my heart will always #BleedBlue next time team India.. @hardikpandya7 u fought so well!!

Facing Hasan Ali, Jadeja punched the ball into the cover region as Pandya called for a run. However, rather than responding to his partner's call, Jadeja was ball-watching before leaving Pandya stranded in the middle. The young Indian batsman who was looking good for India was furious with Jadeja's exploits before taking the long walk back into the pavilion.

While the incident was clearly part and parcel of the game, Pandya seems to have taken it to heart. The 23-year-old took to Twitter and expressed his displeasure after India's heavy loss to Pakistan.

"Hume to apno ne loota, gairo me kahan dum tha (We were looted by one of us, why blame others)," Pandya tweeted.

While no one was specifically mentioned in his tweet, it wasn't hard to ascertain who was being targetted by Pandya there. But, soon after his comments, Pandya's tweet attracted a lot of flak which forced the budding Indian cricketer to delete it.

The anger of Hardik Pandya on getting out showed he thought he could take us home. #attitude 👍👍

In a game where Indian bowlers were smashed all over the park, Pandya and Bhuvneshwar Kumar were the only silver lining for their side. After the impressing everyone with the ball, Pandya also notched up a 32-ball fifty - fastest by a player in the final of an ICC tournament. He surpassed Adam Gilchrist who slammed a 33-ball half-century at the 1999 World Cup.
