Karachi experiences first monsoon rain of year


KARACHI: The city was lashed with its first monsoonal rainfall of the current season which brought relief from the punishing heat the metropolis was experiencing.
Many parts of the city faced power outages after the rain started.

Meanwhile, highway police asked the people to adopt precautionary measures while driving.
According to a Met Office official, the city is likely to receive rain during the next 24 hours that would bring down temperatures.
The Met Office said the maximum temperature was expected to range between 36 to 38 degrees centigrade during that period.

The maximum temperature recorded in the city on Wednesday was 38.5 whereas the minimum temperature was recorded at 30.5 degrees Centigrade.
Humidity in the at the start of day was recorded as 73 per cent, whereas it was 61pc in the evening.
