Pak-India relations deteriorated due to atrocities in occupied Kashmir, says Nawaz

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday said relations between Pakistan and India have deteriorated due to India?s oppression and atrocities in India-occupied Kashmir (IOK).
The premier was talking to journalists after returning from Tajikistan, where he was attending a CASA-1000 conference. The project envisions for the supply of electricity from Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan to Pakistan and Afghanistan
The premier reiterated that India should cease atrocities in the occupied valley and try to work towards a solution for the Kashmir issue.
The prime minister also met Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and also discussed matters of mutual interest during an informal conversation.
Nawaz responded to allegations levelled against Pakistan by Afghanistan and said that the country does not interfere in Afghan matters.
The two countries also exchanged lists related to terrorists.
Referring to the ongoing investigation by the Joint Investigation Team (JIT), the premier said that democracy will not be harmed from him.
