The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has recently announced their list of annual contracts for the Indian cricket team players. Contrary to the contracts being offered in the past couple of years, the Indian cricket board have made some significant changes to the team members for the 2022-23 season.
There are four basic categories and associated money attached to them:
    A+ Category: Rs. 7 Crore
    A Category: Rs. 5 Crore
    B Category: Rs. 3 Crore
    C Category: Rs. 1 Crore
Players in new BCCI Central Contract:

    Promoted:
    Shreyas, Axar, Siraj - C to B.
    Surya - got a contract of C.

    Demoted:
    Shikhar Dhawan - A to C.
    Hardik Pandya - A to C.
    Rahane, Pujara, Ishant - A to B.
Saha, Mayank, Umesh, Bhuvi B to C.

    Kuldeep and Saini - Dropped.
    — Mufaddal Vohra (@mufaddal_vohra) March 2, 2022
Players are placed in their categories based on their previous year's results and how much value they added to the Men in Blue's winning ways with their on-field efforts.
One of the biggest discussion points that have emerged out of the updated list is all the demotions that have taken place in the squad. Some of the biggest names of the game, players whom the audience were so used to seeing on their television screens, will now be paid a lot less in terms of their annual contract.
Feel bad for Shikhar dropping from A to C. He should stay in B.
    — Anwesh C (@Real_CA03) March 2, 2022If Rahane and Pujara can get B, then Shikhar also deserved B.
    — Ankush (@Sinshadarsh) March 2, 2022Sikhar Dhawan is most consistent batter in white ball. He scored runs whenever middle order Rohit got out early. Why demoted him? He is best yo open with Rohit in 50 over game
    — animesh singh (@_singhanimesh) March 2, 2022Only Shikhar Dhawan demotion seems unfortunate. Purane should have been in C.
    — Partha (@PEmailalerts) March 2, 2022The drop in the contract category, by default, also suggests their importance as one of the Men in Blue and while some of the demotions make sense, fans are relatively unhappy to see other people losing out on their previously held status.
For instance, the recently crowned captain of the B-String of the Indian cricket team, Shikhar Dhawan who used to boast an ‘A’ category until the last year, has been dropped to ‘C’ Category. It has not only stunned his fans but also enraged them.
    Why mayank b to c?
    — Gyaani420 (@Sabkesabfraud) March 2, 2022Mayank ne kya kiya tha
    — Kartik (@cricket_a2z) March 2, 2022Mayank Agarwal, who is considered to be a top choice for Team India to open the batting innings in the longest format of the game, and is also making his way into white-ball cricket, has also been dropped from the ‘B’ category to ‘C’ Category.
Furthermore, Kuldeep Yadav’s complete and absolute removal from the list after not being given enough playing time last year has also shattered the hearts of the millions of cricket fans in the country.
Kuldeep who is in the team got dropped but saha who asked to retire still in contract
    — ഗോപാലകൃഷ്ണൻ (@crazygopalaan) March 2, 2022just feeling bad for Kuldeep
    — Felix Makwana (@felixmakwana) March 2, 2022Having said that, there is one name among the demotees that has not received nearly enough criticism as some of the others mentioned above. In fact, his drop in contractual status feels justified to the fans who were absolutely fine with him losing the money.
    One more name added to
    Name bade darshan chote
    — Souhardya Dey(Joy Mohun Bagan) (@SouhardyaDey5) March 2, 2022Bcci to pandya pic.twitter.com/8dc1pT73d9
    — CricFolksIn CRFIN (@CricFolksTalks) March 3, 2022Hardik pandya should have been written out of contract they way he has made himself unavailable for team selection since t20 wc 2021. And very happily available for IPL. #BCCI #Hardikpandya #IndianCricketTeam
    — Amit Khetan (@amitkhetan2804) March 2, 2022Why is Hardik Pandya still having a contract? Has done nothing for the past two years other than give attitude bhari interviews. Let him prove himself in domestic cricket before handing him the next contract. As far as medium pace bowling all-rounders go, we have plenty for now.
    — Yashas Sridharan (@YashasSridharan) March 3, 2022Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya who was in the ‘A’ category up until this year has been downgraded to the ‘C’ category. The decision originates from his inability to stay healthy throughout the year and not being able to fulfil his duties as a bowler when it mattered the most - during the T20 World Cup 2021 in which India was ousted during the group stage.

You know how, sometimes, when you feel like you’re on top of the world, the wind is swinging in your favour and everything you’re doing is just falling right into place? And then, while you’re busy basking in the glory of your triumphs, suddenly there comes a moment when everything starts falling apart and you’re back on the ground.
    View this post on Instagram
Life is indeed funny like that, one second you’re the cock of the walk and the next, you’re scrambling.

An example of which we’ve recently witnessed with Shark Tank India’s famous panellist Ashneer Grover, who right after getting famous for his appearance on the reality show, dove straight into a series of controversies that haven’t really ended well for him.
Presently, Ashneer Grover is no longer part of the BharatPe board, for he claims to have been ‘forced to resign’ and was vilified by the investors.
At the same time, his wife Madhuri Jain was also fired from the company on charges of ‘misappropriation of funds’.
And turns out, both of them haven’t taken the news too well, for they’ve been using social media to show their dissent for things that have gone down.
    © Madhuri Jain
While Madhuri took to Twitter to leak videos of the BharatPe employees, drinking and smoking in the office, while claiming that they can continue with their ‘drunken orgies’, Ashneer Grover took to his LinkedIn page to share a post about his alleged ‘lavish lifestyle’ after the board alleged him for siphoning off funds.

He wrote, “I am appalled at the personal nature of the BharatPe Board's statement, but not surprised. It comes from a position of personal hatred and low thinking. I think the Board needs to be reminded of $1M of secondary shares investors bought from me in Series C, $2.5M in Series D and $8.5M in Series E. I would also want to learn who among Amarchand, PWC and A&M has started doing audit on ‘lavishness’ of one’s lifestyle ? The only thing lavish about me is my dreams and ability to achieve them against all odds through hard work and enterprise."
    © Ashneer Grover
He went on to also wish, “I hope the Board can get back to working soon - I as a shareholder am worried about the value destruction. I wish the Company and the Board a speedy recovery. Please get back to your actual day jobs.”

    © Ashneer Grover
And lastly, Ashneer shared a picture of a bed made out of a mattress on the floor and wrote, “P.S. I indeed have a very lavish lifestyle. I get invited by friends with open hearts to their homes, where I have no qualms sleeping on the floor. And this is when I am on the road in US and UK raising $370M Series E. And I've the right to stay in any lavish hotel and charge it on the company issued credit card in my pocket. Those who haven't built from scratch will never understand the Founder's mentality.”

Several people dropped comments on his post that was shared yesterday, with over 61 thousand likes and counting. While some supported Ashneer, others wondered if he was aiming to gain sympathy.
    © Ashneer Grover
One wrote, “Ashneer has been playing the victim card for quite a while now! Irrespective of his tussle with the board, he could have exhibited greater sense of dignity & poise in handling the whole situation,” while another commented, “This is ridiculous, what a shame on the board members. Is this really happening, what type of a mindset do these board members have? how do they think and act? They stooped so low, unbelievable and appalling. Dear Sir, it is evident that your Spiritual Quotient and Emotional Quotient are your strengths.”

Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor, who made her big debut in Leena Yadav's Teen Patti way back in 2010, has come a long way now and has carved a niche for herself in the industry.

The 35-year-old actress, who is the daughter of veteran actor Shakti Kapoor, made her bow on the big screen alongside Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan and went on to a few good movies to stamp her mark as a star in Bollywood.
    © Zee5
While her acting in Teen Patti was great, she was really recognized by fans for her performance alongside Aditya Roy Kapur in 2013's Aashiqui 2, which was a big hit at the box office.

    © Youtube
Post the film, Shraddha has had some ups and downs in terms of the performance and reception of her films, however, she will soon be seen in some interesting projects including a movie with Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor.

Now, while the future looks promising for her, Shraddha had once revealed how she was also offered some very different films when she was beginning her career in Bollywood.
Something that will clearly amaze you is that Shraddha even revealed how she was offered an erotic film by a very well-known filmmaker after her first movie.
However, she spoke about how she didn't want to get into that space and rejected the chance to star in the film.
"'I’ve seen your first film Shraddha. Would you be interested in being part of an erotic thriller?' I didn’t know how to refuse him and rather coyly told him, ‘I’m not going into that territory for now’.” said Shraddha, while speaking with Filmfare.
It was also revealed that Shraddha had a dream of working with Bollywood director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who recently came out with the Alia Bhatt-starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi.
Shraddha wanted to star in Bhansali's production My Friend Pinto, however, unfortunately for her, she lost out on it and it was a really bad experience for her.

“Before Teen Patti released, I auditioned for a really important film. I was dying to get it. I worked day and night and gave the audition my all. But I didn’t bag the part. When I received the call (about being replaced), I went to my mom and told her what had happened. After that, I asked her to leave me alone. I went to my room and cried on my bed non-stop for three days.” said Shraddha.

Losing the part must have been a big blow for her, however, she has the upcoming Naagin film to look up to and also the Luv Ranjan movie alongside Ranbir Kapoor.

Rohit Sharma has been on fire of late, both on and off the field. In his early days as a captain, the cricketer has seen some really impressive victories, having whitewashed West Indies and Sri Lanka in back-to-back white-ball series.

    © Instagram/mumbaiindians
Off the field too, Rohit is smashing things out of the ground, especially when it comes to his choices in cars. It is a known fact that Rohit Sharma is a massive petrolhead, a proper driving enthusiast, and knows how to pick some of the best cars that have ever graced Indian streets.

    © Reuters
Well, recently, the cricketer brought home one of the coolest cars that money can buy in India right now.

    © Instagram/automobiliardent
Rohit Sharma has recently become the proud owner of a brand new Lamborghini Urus in his hometown Mumbai, which he bought from Lamborghini Mumbai. Pictures by Automobili Ardent show the SUV gets a brilliant looking shade of ‘Blu Eleos’ which is Lamborghini’s name for a really cool shade of dark blue. The entire car, including the front and rear bumpers, is painted in this shade of blue.

    © Instagram/automobiliardent
Blue happens to be Rohit Sharma’s favourite colour, as this is not the first time he has bought a blue-coloured car. He is also the owner of a dope BMW M5, which again, is blue in colour. Given that he is the captain of the Indian Cricket Team and the Mumbai Indians IPL Team, both of which have blue-coloured jerseys, it becomes an even more obvious choice of colour for him.

    © Reuters
The Urus that Rohit has gone for comes with a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine, with a maximum power output of 650 PS and a peak torque output of 850 Nm. This engine is paired with an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission.

Rohit got the interiors of his car personalized in a dual-tone combination of Ross Alala (cherry red) and Nero (black) for the cabin. While the upper layer of the dashboard and door panels is painted black, the lower parts and the seats are finished in cherry red.

The Lamborghini Urus starts at Rs 3.15 crore in India. Rohit joins a rather elite club of Lamborghini Urus owners, which include people like Ranveer Singh, Kartik Aaryan, Rohit Shetty and Jr NTR.

After Padmaavat had released in 2018, Sanjay Leela Bhansali had announced his next film to be Inshallah starring Salman Khan and Alia Bhatt.
The film was supposed to be Salman and SLB’s reunion after Saawariya in 2007 and was announced for an Eid release.
However, in a twist of turns, one day, Salman Khan took to Twitter and revealed that the film was shelved. While the exact reason was not revealed, several reports claimed that the two had creative differences.
    © Bhansali Productions
Now, post the release and success of Gangubai Kathiawadi, SLB was asked in an interview with Bollywood Hungama about his awaited reunion with Salman after Inshallah got shelved.

Bhansali replied, “Salman is a very dear friend. I wanted to work with him after Padmaavat. I put my best foot forward to make it happen. For whatever reason, it didn't turn out; we all change as people. So, he has changed, in his mind, I have changed. Of course, if I pick up the phone and talked to him, he will talk to me exactly the way, we have spoken in between also, he will talk to me exactly from where we left. So, it's not like we are strangers or we do not like each other or we do not speak to each other.”
He continued, “My utmost regard and respect for the person who did Khamoshi for me, who did Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam for me, and who stood by me during Saawariya. He has been an important part of who I am today and I will always respect him for it. The ball is in his court for him to decide if he wants to work with me.”

Post Gangubai Kathiawadi, Sanjay Leela Bhansali will now begin work on his first web series Heeramandi for Netflix.

The film reportedly stars Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari and Manisha Koirala. The show will go on floors in the month of April, as per a report.

Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra feels that the young Venkatesh Iyer’s time as one of the top choices for Team India as an all-rounder may be coming to an end once Hardik Pandya becomes fully fit and starts bowling again.
All-rounders have an extremely important place in modern-day cricket. The role gets even more crucial when it comes to T20, the shortest format of the game where the all-rounders not only need to ball their full quota of 4 overs but also take wickets by giving away the least possible runs and then take the sheen away from the opposition’s bowling attack while batting.
    View this post on Instagram
It’s always a blessing to have quality all-rounders in the team. However, it’s difficult to have a number of all-rounders. Most teams have 2 or 3 all-rounders in a pack of 11 players. In such a situation it becomes vital to select the best player who is not only in good form but should also be healthwise fully fit.
Team India found itself very lucky to have Hardik Pandya as an all-rounder who had started to create havoc in the opposition camp with his heel-breaking yorkers and devastating batting. Pandya had become a must-have for the team till he got severely injured and had to be taken out on a stretcher while playing against their arch-rivals Pakistan in the UAE.

Since then Pandya has been in and out of the team due to the reoccurrence of injury. This paved the way for another talented all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer to make a place in the national team in T20. Iyer worked hard and consolidated his place to a great extent.
However, the dream weaved by Hardik Pandya in the minds of the Indian fans still persists and the selectors are still hoping to have the same old Pandya back in the team. This makes Venkatesh uncertain about the team.

Recently the former India batting opener and current cricket presenter on TV, Akash Chopra expressed on his YouTube channel that Iyer will likely be out of the race for contention once Hardik regains full fitness and starts bowling again.  Chopra said – “It may look like Venkatesh Iyer is ahead in the race, but I won’t be surprised if Hardik Pandya wins it. Ravindra Jadeja will be the spin all-rounder and Hardik Pandya will be the fast-bowling all-rounder”.
“Iyer is present for now but the day Hardik starts bowling again, he will pip Venkatesh Iyer for the role,” Chopra further expressed.
    View this post on Instagram
But, the question still remains, when will that day come? Will the day ever come when Hardik Pandya returns to the team with the same kind of fitness to bowl his full quota or will still be taken out in the middle of an overdue to the reoccurrence of his injury? It has been more than one year now that the team has been waiting for that day.
This long wait is also not allowing the likes of Venkatesh Iyer to settle down in the team and maybe generate a feeling of uncertainty in their minds and adversely impact their performance.
    View this post on Instagram
So, it seems to have reached a point where the team needs to look beyond Hardik Pandya and groom new talents to take the place of a fast-bowling all-rounder and move ahead.
Pandya anyways has received a golden opportunity to again prove his worth by leading Gujrat Titans in the upcoming mega league of TATA IPL 2022. He will be back on the national side if he displays is fitness and bowling form. And if he doesn’t, then he will make way for someone more deserving.
T20 World Cup is taking place in Australia later this year. Only 15 players can be taken on that flight and it’s only prudent to have the most deserving and the fittest be on that list.

    — GJEmmanuel (@gje94) March 3, 2022Talking about Shanaya’s co-stars, Lakshay was supposed to enter Bollywood with Dostana 2, however, the film got shelved for now after Kartik Aaryan's controversial exit. There is still no update on Dostana 2 and Bedhadak is going to be Lakshay’s first film. For the unversed, he has been a part of several TV shows including Warrior High, Pardes Mein Hai Mera Dil, and Porus.
Gurfateh, on the other hand, was a part of Kiara Advani-starrer Netflix film Guilty. He played the role of VJ or Vijay Pratap Singh in it. However, with Bedhadak, the actor is going to make his big-screen debut. Interestingly, he is the younger brother of South actress Mehreen Pirzada, who appeared alongside Dhanush in the Tamil film Pattas. She was also seen in Anushka Sharma’s Phillauri.
Here's wishing the trio all the best for Bedhadak.

The chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Ramiz Raja, has granted his approval for the Women's Pakistan Super League (PSL) to begin next year.
The PCB celebrated a big victory in the recently ended Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2022 when Shaheen Shah Afridi's Lahore Qalandars defeated Mohammad Rizwan's Multan Sultans to win the title. The Pakistani league’s profits soared to 71 per cent, the most in the league's history, according to PCB chairman Ramiz Raja.
Ramiz Raja "PSL 7 profits jumped to 71%, which is the most in its history, with each franchise earning around PKR900million, again the most in PSL’s history, and all before the first ball was even bowled" #PSL7 #Cricket
    — Saj Sadiq (@SajSadiqCricket) February 28, 2022
In the meanwhile, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has stated that a Pakistan Super League-style league for women cricketers will be held. Tania Malik, the head of Women’s Cricket in Pakistan made the announcement on Wednesday.
The Women's Pakistan Super League was supposed to take place in 2022, however, it was postponed due to a lack of space in the present window for a women's T20 league. Now that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ramiz Raja has given the league his blessing, it is official that the competition will begin in 2023.
With the approval of Women’s PSL coming through for 2023, the fans of Indian cricket have started slamming the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The complaint is that even though the BCCI remains the wealthiest and the most influential cricket board in the world, they have somehow managed to make absolutely no progress in introducing an Indian Premier League for women.
What card will BCCI play? Not enough players? Not enough audience?

    — Suresh Manna (@puchunpuchi) March 2, 2022"Current BCCI" is only Money making Company....Shameful #BCCI #SGanguly #JaySaha#DemandWomenIPL
    — Saurav Kayal (@KayalSaurav) March 2, 2022Some of the other major cricketing nations of the world have integrated women’s cricket into their very own franchise cricket setups. For instance, Cricket Australia have organised a women’s big bash league and England introduced The Hundred tournament last year.
However, the Sourav Ganguly-led BCCI, who boast the most successful franchise league in the world, are still leaving their prospects of a women’s IPL hanging in the air.

In February 2022 BCCI secretary Jay Shah suggested that the board “plans” to launch a full-fledged Women's IPL “soon”. This follows appeals from a variety of quarters, including former cricketers, both male and female, for an Indian women's T20 event on par with the Women's BBL and the Women's Hundred.
Along with the men's IPL, a three-team Women's T20 Challenge is held, however many argue that women need their own league with more teams and players. The Women's T20 Challenge will continue this year, but according to BCCI secretary Jay Shah, things will soon alter.
